Yes I listened. I did not hear you say directly that you cannot forgive yourself. If you did I apologize. I was hung up on this as a new believer. Thanks for the podcast.

Thank you, I did not say it directly. I came at it the way most people do. We say, "I can't forgive myself", but really what's happening is that we are not receiving the forgiveness we already have in Christ. We have been made righteous and so all we have to do is let go of the thought of being a bad person. We need to let go. 🌿💫

Hello Orla, Thank you for this. You made some great points here but I would have to say that we cannot forgive ourselves. All our sin is against God and he is the only one that can forgive us. Even after the horrific sin that King David did against Bathsheba and her husband he said, against you and you alone did I sin. His sin was against image bearers so against God. If we say we have to forgive ourselves we are saying that Jesus was not enough. We need to direct this believer to their identity in Christ and confession to God, asking for forgiveness and walking in freedom. Yes, Satan can still attack, but we can stand against it. You did teach all that here and it was good teaching. Thanks for all you do. Blessings. Roger
