Love this! If you're inclined, you could do a deep dive on the Jesus Prayer too. It is very powerful for me. When I am spiraling or in a negative headspace, the Jesus Prayer (particularly this rendition) clears my mind and lifts my heart - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzduFfQxuCY&t=2925s&ab_channel=PatrickLenk

Hi Zane, thank you for sharing the song and the work of Patrick Lenk. I love those chants and it's what I've been looking for. I'm looking forward to listening to his album. I have it playing in the background now - Chants of the Mystics. If you find any more good sounds like this, I'd love if you would share them with me. However, the one you sent on the Jesus Prayer did not sit well with me as we are not sinners once we are born again. Jesus died to set us free and that means he washed away our sin.. so we are now saints. Yes, we do need mercy and I often pray, "Lord have mercy on me" because we need help with the purification process, which is what this Ho'oponopono process is for. We have old memories playing in our subconscious mind that need to be removed and transmuted into the Light. I hope you are well. Blessings! :)

Nice! I'm glad you found something of value.

I am not sure I would agree with that statement - how would you interpret 1 John 8-10? Perhaps you see it as a one-time thing (the confession part)? I believe it is ongoing throughout sanctification because I think we attain perfection and enter into glory on the other side of this life, not in this life.

But, I can see your point of view. Thanks for sharing.

I just read your new article so I understand more of your thought process. One thing I will say though - the "please forgive me" part of the Ho'oponopono prayer. Forgiveness implies hurt, which is equivalent to sin, in my eyes. Is that not the same as "have mercy on me, a sinner"? Haha

Please don't take this the wrong way. There is enough toxic guilt and shame in the world. In Christ we are restored and purified. I am just bringing these things up to try and stay in reality and in truth. Keep up the great work!

Good point! :) I think it's really important that they preach about sin in the church because many people don't even know what sin is. So, we need better teaching and discipleship in the churches.

Well, it's something we need to pray about. If the Bible says that Jesus died for our sins then why are we continuously going on about sin?

Was my memory a sin when I was not even aware of it? I could say it was left behind from my old nature. After all, memory is in the past.

We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. (Phill. 2:12)

In the Ho'oponopono, they suggest we ask for forgiveness because we don't know what we are even praying for. So, they tell us to ask for forgiveness for any wrongdoing by our family, relatives, or ancestors. We are praying against spiritual darkness. Like with the guy from my past.. he is not saved, so who knows, maybe it's all about intercession!

We say I'm sorry, please forgive me because it covers us.. We don't know what is really going on, do we? So, we pray and pray.

Do you mind me asking, Zane, when were you born again?

About the Catholics, they don't like us to get ahead of ourselves. I know, I grew up a Catholic. So, if they call us sinners, we will never feel we can ever live in victory. They may think it keeps us humble, but we could also say, it makes us not walk in the authority we have been given by Jesus to do as He did and even more.

So, without being proud, I say I am a saint, a child of God, redeemed and made holy in His sight. We avoid sin, but we have old sin that is still being purified. It takes time to work this stuff out of us. This is why it is good to be saved early in life as there is the old life with it's consequences.

When we are saved, it first happens in the Spirit and then gets worked out of the flesh over time.

I hope I've answered some of your questions here, Zane. :)

I don't mind you asking. It's good for me too.

Hi Zane, sorry for the delay. I didn't see your message.

You can't read 1 John 8-10 without reading the line above. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin." (v.7)

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us."

Yes, when we are born again, we are washed of our sin (original sin). This is why we are called saints, not because, we are incapable of sin, but because we are united to Christ.

I think the article below explains it well. We are saints according to the Bible, but we still have a sin nature, but we have the Holy Spirit that can keep us from sin.

Yes, we are in a process of purification and sanctification, but we are in the Spirit. It's different after salvation. It is possible to be free from sin as Jesus did it himself as a man, fully human. But, I don't know too many sinless people, but we can get very close to being glorified this side of heaven.

The Catholics love to call us sinners, but the Protestants like to call us saints. :) ha

Have you heard of the priesthood of all believers.

Thanks for sharing, Zane. Many people argue on these points.. We could say we are saints who are capable of sinning.
